Maori Culture

I have begun the research into some Polynesian cultures and decided to settle on a blend of Hawaiian and Maori culture at the moment. The picture illustrates a Maori greeting called hongi. It is normally done during important ceremonies and can be compared to a formal handshake in modern western culture. However, there is much more meaning behind it. I plan on using this in my book, Great Spirits, and hope to add some more things as I continue to dig more into these cultures!

    • Ah, thank you! I really want to get started on it, but there is so much more research to be done to establish at least another 2-3 subcultures. 😀

Glad to have you on board! I still need to check out your book. *I’ll probably do it on WP, though.*

      • You’re welcome 🙂 If you ever need a cheerleader type to keep you going, I’ll be here to comment! No worries. Read the books when you can.

      • 😀 Thank you! Really happy to have one person on here supporting me already.

On a side note… I was thinking about posting one of my works on WP on here, but I don’t know how to do the dropdown window thing. :/ This site can be so complicated.

      • You’re welcome, and it’s no problem =) Us indie writers need to support each other. Writing and building ourselves up is lonely, so it’s important to have a support group. Are you talking about the way I have the stories on my site? Each of the chapters are listed under their own category.
